Primary teachers through their administration won the Darrell Gwaltney Reading Grant as they won funds for a proposed Pathways to Reading program. New Segment and Write boards will allow primary students to decode and segment words.
In the Junior High, a grant was awarded to Robyn Smelser for new paint brushes and palettes. As we went into her room, she was at the sink literally cleaning the classroom's brushes
Cynthia Heitert and Erica Huskey, FACS instructors received funds to replace three of their 18 year old cooking stoves. They seemed very happy.
High School art instructor Kim Stewart received a grant for twenty-five drawing/graphics tablets. The tablets will allow prospective engineers, animation and architectural students to more accurately create drawings and paintings on the computers.
